Martín Fuchs and Josh Phillips co-edit a special issue of the Proceedings of the LSA

June 17, 2020
Martín Fuchs and Josh Phillips co-edited the first special issue of the Proceedings of the Linguistic Society of America, entitled ‘Formal Approaches to Grammaticalization’.

The five papers in the collection emerge from talks presented at an Organized Session they put together at the LSA 94th Annual Meeting, and represent work on various languages from a number of international scholars with different theoretical commitments taking stock of recent advances in how we study meaning change.

The special issue begins with an introduction where Martín & Josh describe this research program (diachronic semantics), and includes summaries of the primary contributions of each of the five articles.
