Note from the Chair
The Yale Linguistics department is an exciting community where students, post-docs and faculty work individually and collaboratively, using traditional methods of inquiry and new interdisciplinary tools, to describe and understand the properties of human language and the human capacity for language. The relatively small size of our department allows us to create a close-knit community, where we show respect and appreciation, we acknowledge the humanity of each individual and we support one another in our journey of discovering and learning and in our efforts to disseminate knowledge.
