Linguistics and Cognitive Science major Andy Zhang ’15 will be traveling to Kalgoorlie, Australia, this summer to complete a language documentation project on Tjupan, a highly endangered Wati language spoken in Western Australia. His project is supported by a CIPE Research Fellowship for Juniors from Yale College and is a continuation of a year-long collaboration with fellow Yale Linguistics students, associate professor Claire Bowern, Australian field linguist Sue Hanson, and four speakers of Tjupan.
