International Day of Sign Languages
Happy International Day of Sign Languages!
Please celebrate with us today at the Yale Deaf History Exhibit in the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library from 2:00 - 4:30pm. Stop by for a viewing of the instrumental influences Yale leaders and alumni played in establishing Sign Language (which became ASL) as the modality of instruction among deaf children in early America.
Registration for today is helpful to give us an idea of attendees: Exhibit Schedule
The World Federation of the Deaf has declared today’s IWDP theme as Sign Languages Unite Us and encourages country leaders to sign the Global Leaders Challenge in support of signed languages.
