Yale well represented at WCCFL-43

Yale was well represented at the 43rd West Coast Conference on Formal Linguistics (WCCFL-43), held by the University of Washington from April 25 to 27, 2025. 

Florence Zhang-Yukun (1st year), with Linmin Zhang (NYU Shanghai), gave a poster presentation: “Chinese gèng, English implicit comparison, and vagueness sharpening”. 

Ka-Fai Yip (5th year) and Squid Tamar-Mattis (3rd year) gave a talk: “Diagnosing multidominance by focus association of ‘only’”. 

Ka-Fai Yip (5th year) also gave a poster presentation: “A parametric view on exclusive focus particles”. 

Yoshiki Fujiwara (recent post-doc 2022-2024, now at Yamaguchi University) gave a poster presentation: “Can Adjuncts Be Elided? A Bimodal Approach to Adjunct-Inclusive Interpretation”.
