Athulya Aravind

A paper by faculty member Athulya Aravind and collaborator Megan Gotowski (William & Mary), entitled “Non-Canonical Agreement in Early Grammars”, has been published in Linguistic Inquiry. Drawing on a pattern of selective errors, the paper argues that young children’s non-adult productions of verbal inflection is best explained as failures to establish the underlying syntactic dependencies.
