Rina Furusawa graduated from International Christian University in Tokyo, Japan, with a B.A. in 2023 and an M.A. in 2025. Her master’s thesis focused on the Japanese voicing contrast in speech and singing. In 2025, she joined the Ph.D. program at Yale University. Her research interests include phonetics, phonology, the interface between the two, singing, and the interaction between semantics and intonation.
