Sarah Babinski and Andy Zhang receive student fellowships

May 20, 2017

Two Yale graduate students have been awarded fellowships in recognition of their outstanding work.

Sarah Babinski received the Institute Fellowship from the Linguistic Society of America (LSA), which provides tuition funding for the 2017 Linguistic Institute. The Linguistic Institute is an annual event, sponsored by the LSA and held at various institutions during the summer, in which top students and faculty participate in a series of short courses covering introductory and advanced topics in all subfields of linguistics. This year, the Linguistic Institute will be held at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky.

Andy Zhang received a Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) award in the Psychology–Psycholinguistics section. The GRFP fellowship, awarded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), supports graduate student research in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Andy’s award provides him with a stipend for 3 years as well as an annual education allowance that goes toward his Yale tuition. It will support his research in the Language and Brain Lab, directed by Prof. Maria Piñango.

Congratulations to Sarah and Andy!
