Gregg Castellucci wins scholarship from the Acoustical Society of America

June 28, 2016

Congratulations to PhD candidate Gregg Castellucci, who has been awarded the 2016 Raymond H. Stetson Scholarship in Phonetics and Speech Science from the Acoustical Society of America!

This scholarship will be used to fund Gregg’s dissertation research, which examines the orofacial and vocal motor coordination patterns in mice in order to understand the basic components of speech motor coordination shared with general mammalian vocalization production, and how the neurobiological and genetic foundations of mouse vocal production relate to speech production. Gregg is advised in the linguistics department by professor Steve Anderson and in neuroscience by professor David McCormick.

Gregg joins the ranks of several Yale-affiliated phoneticians who are past recipients of this scholarship: Mike Proctor PhD ‘09 (2009), assistant professor Jason Shaw (2008), and former assistant professor Jelena Krivokapić (2005), who advised Gregg while she was at Yale.
