Congrats to the Class of 2014!

This year we have five undergraduate linguistics majors who will be graduating in May. You are welcome to attend their senior essay presentations, listed below, all to be held in LingSem (Dow Hall 201). Please congratulate them on their achievement!
- Brenda Seah’s senior essay is titled “But as a multi-level objection marker: Addressing issues raised by but-questions” and is advised by professor Larry Horn. She will present her essay at 1:30 pm on April 2.
- Maria Kouneli’s senior essay is titled “The syntax of silent locative prepositions in Greek” and is advised by postdoc Jim Wood and professor Bob Frank. She will present her essay at 1:30 pm on April 16. Maria will be starting her PhD in linguistics at NYU this fall.

Pat Killian’s senior essay is titled “The genitive of negation: A structural analysis” and is advised by postdoc Jim Wood. He will present his essay at 2:00 pm on April 16. In the fall, Pat will begin an MA in English literature, with a focus on print culture, at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver.
- Diallo Spears’s senior essay is titled “Rendaku in three-root compounds: A frequency-based approach to sequential voicing” and is advised by assistant professor Ryan Bennett. He will present his essay at 2:30 pm on April 16.
